DONALD Trump has cancelled his visit to the UK, which was planned for next month.
The president was due to travel to London to officially open the new US embassy. Now he has said he thinks the new building is a “bad deal” for the American embassy. The old building was rented in Mayfair but a brand-new one has been built across the river in Battersea.
Some think that the president was worried about the bad reaction he might have got in the UK. There were expected to be large protests against him, if he did visit.
Trump’s Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, will open the embassy instead, although the president could still come for a state visit in the UK later this year.
