Be Like a Bear.
It’s difficult when you can’t go out,
when you can’t go see your friends.
When it seems like there’s no fun about,
there’s one thing you can pretend:
Be like a bear.
It’s difficult when you can’t go play,
when you have to stay inside.
When there’s no school or holiday,
there is one thing – have you tried?
Be like a bear.
It’s difficult when stuck with parents,
but they really aren’t that bad.
They never got past adolescence,
so grab your Mum, persuade Dad:
Be like a bear.
Bears in the winter do something great,
Families get together and all hibernate.
Bears and their cubs they all stay at home
They find other ways to smile besides honeycomb.
Bears first play games but don’t care who wins,
Then they help their parents put rubbish in the bins.
Bears next go on a grand adventure
They search around the forest for the hidden treasure.
Bears are the best at silly faces
They can make their lips and tongues look like shoe laces.
Bears have their biggest smile when they draw
Pictures of their favourite things when allowed outdoors.
Bears also know when it’s time to rest,
Having tea and biscuits still at their home address.
Bears cannot wait until story time.
Winnie and Paddington are always first in line.
It’s difficult when you can’t go out,
when you can’t go see your friends.
But there’s always fun to find around;
just remember this will end.
And be like a bear.
