I personally think yes since they've been educating you since preschool all the way to university and that's 15 year life span. But come on, at least be nice to them and give them a card.

Personally, for me it's totally voluntary to give a gift to your teacher. Its completely fine to not give one to them but we should put into consideration the amount of work they do to give us the education we have. Not only do they just help us with our work but they plan lessons, have after or before school tuition with pupils, mark books in the only free-time they have in the whole week and are patient with us in general. This is only some of the jobs a teacher does and for most people, just that is challenging!

I'm actually not sure because giving them a present would show the apreciation you have for them. They do spend their weekends and holidays marking books and preparing lessons. I would definitely give them a present if I liked them and if they'd helped me. Year 6 is especially tough for the teacher at the beginning,but you literally don't do anything after SATS.
On the contrary, I don't think anyone should be forced to give presents because you could have money problems and you could feel forced if all of your friends did. You do actually give them a leaving present so technically on average they will get a present from each child even if it is a small box of chocolates or a fancy candle for a leaving presents.
Honestly I don't think teachers really mind because they get a new class every year so they get lots of presents.
I would only give presents in primary school because in secondary you have many teachers and if you only give it to one then the rest of them my feel upset or disappointed that you may not like them.

it would be nice to give your teachers a present because the it is a nice way of saying thank you for teaching me, you are the best teacher. They have put time and effort into us. I used to go swimming at school on Wednesday at 18:30 and it lasted for around an hour and a half. And when I come out my teachers are still in their classrooms.
