WALES won’t be heading to the 2018 World Cup, after losing to the Republic of Ireland in the qualifiers. 

The final score at the match in Cardiff was 0-1 to the Republic of Ireland, with James McClean scoring the winning goal.

Following the result, Wales manager Chris Coleman, said he’s undecided about his future at the club. He added: “The whole nation will be mourning and disappointed.”

Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will now be in the play-offs.

England has qualified automatically, but Scotland also failed to get through.

The World Cup

  • The 2018 World Cup will be hosted by Russia.
  • It will take place between 14 June – 15 July 2018.
  • The tournament will consist of 32 teams.
