Manchester Arena reopens with charity concert

News

MANCHESTER Arena reopened on Saturday 9 September, with a huge ‘We Are Manchester’ charity concert.

The arena in Manchester has been closed since the terror attack at Ariana Grande’s concert back in May, when 22 people were killed.

The concert was held to remember the victims of the attack and to raise money for a permanent memorial.

Who took part in the concert?

The concert was hosted by comedian Russell Kane.

Fellow comedian Peter Kay and singers Noel Gallagher and Pixie Lott also performed on the night.

Peter Kay told an audience of 14,000 people: “The victims will never ever be forgotten, but we’ve got to move forward with love and not hate, and that’s how we win.”

There were also famous people in the crowd, including the manager of Manchester City FC, Pep Guardiola.
