TODAY (4 October) is World Animal Day – a day raising awareness of animals and how they are cared for around the globe.
To celebrate the day, these Oriental short-clawed otters at RZSS Edinburgh Zoo are having some fun in the autumn leaves. Check out their cute video above!
Otterly fun facts
- Oriental short-clawed otters can be found in the wild from India through to Southeast Asia and up to the Philippines.
- They are the smallest otter species in the world.
- The otters are sociable animals, choosing to live in family groups of up to 12 individuals.
- They are listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
