TODAY (11 October) is International Day of the Girl!
The day was set up by the United Nations to highlight girls’ rights and the challenges they face around the world. It also aims to empower girls and women.
Did you know there are 1.1 billion girls in the world?
The theme of this year’s International Day of the Girl is ‘EmPOWER Girls: Before, during and after crises.’ That means making sure that girls know what they can achieve, even when faced with conflict.
