The head of the investigation, Sir Martin Moore-Bick, has already faced criticism from some of the families affected by the disaster.

He’ll examine evidence on the cause and spread of the fire and the actions of the local authority.

Today (14 September), Sir Martin will deliver his opening statement from the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. He will not take questions afterwards.

Survivors of the fire are expected to watch the speech live on a screen at Notting Hill Methodist church.
