FOOTBALL may not have come home but many schools got into the spirit by allowing pupils a lie-in on Monday.

The 8pm start of the Euro 2020 final meant many of you would have stayed up late to watch the game on Sunday night. A number of schools said children would not be marked late if they arrived by 10.30am.

Sandringham School in St Albans captured the national feeling in a tweet that said: “It’s not often we qualify for a major football final so to ensure everyone gets to enjoy it – school will start one hour late on Monday morning.”

There’s been a bit of debate around their tweet, so we want to hear what you think!
