A joke idea has turned into a real treat, as IKEA teams up with Chupa Chups to create a meatball-flavoured lollipop!

The unusual sweet will be given away for free in selected IKEA stores around the world this June. Around one million lollipops are being made, inspired by the taste of the store’s famous Swedish meatballs and lingonberry sauce.

The idea first appeared as an April Fools’ Day joke, but proved so popular that it’s been made real.

Martin Höfling, global marketing manager at Chupa Chups, said: “This limited-edition lollipop is our playful tribute to a flavour that people all over the world associate with IKEA.”

The lollipops aren’t for sale though, so fans will need to visit stores to try to bag one.
