Last year, we asked 5,528 of you if you would be happy to get second-hand gifts for Christmas.

Almost three-quarters (73%) of you said yes, while 27% of you said no.

Moksha Roy, a ten-year-old sustainability champion, shares her ideas for a green Christmas in First News.

She says: “Christmas is a celebration of giving, so how about celebrating the festive season in ways that protect our planet by having a green Christmas? This matters because Christmas generates over three million tonnes of extra waste in the UK alone!”

One of her ideas is Swap-a-doodle do: “Organise Christmas jumper swaps at school, exchange books or games and donate toys or clothes.”
