You can now recycle your crisp packets!
Walkers has teamed up with TerraCycle to help tackle the issue of plastic waste, so people can drop off their empty packets at collection points across the UK and the company will recycle them. A free courier service has been set up, too.
If you need a courier service then you’ll need to have collected at least 400 packets, so it’s best to club together with family, friends and colleagues. Any crisp packets can be recycled in this scheme and they could become park benches, plant pots or bags!
What do you think? Will you recycle your crisp packets this Christmas?

Yes. I'd like to start a collection point at ouf school because it's good to recycle!
zerotooth · 6 years ago
Yes I would recycle my crisp packets because of how bad the environment I now
elephant_m · 6 years ago
I think no because the bag is made of plastic and plastic is bad for the environment. The plastic used in crisps bags are one-use plastic and will give out a strong chemical afterwards, which will affect animals and humans.

This is SUCH a good idea. More than ten thousand packets are eaten every day. You can't IMAGINE how much plastic waste that is!

Yes. I will recycle my crisp packets this Christmas because until now, animals have suffered a lot by eating trash left in the ocean. As Christmas is a time of joy, I wish the animals could have a happy life too. With recycling my crisp packets, I can make a difference to the world.

I will, because it will help the planet and everyone on it!
polarbear4 · 6 years ago
I will RECYCLE my crisp packets because I think recycling is incredibly good for our planet and we need to look after it. Well done WALKERS!
poppypapa · 6 years ago
I am probably going to try but I’m not really sure ?
spacegirlg · 6 years ago
Yes, it’s a great idea and it will help with the problem of global warming. We still have to remember that it’s not the end, but otherwise I would never think of it. I voted yes.
chotspot · 6 years ago
I will do this because it will save our plastic pollution and it will make our environment more healthy.
chealsea · 6 years ago
I would as it is just the same as recycling anything else and would help save our planet
chahou · 6 years ago
It is potentially a good idea however, these sites will become full of scavengers looking for the unwanted crumbs or bad crisps. Despite this, I personally would recycle crisp packets and maybe we could try doing something like this with plastic bottles. They could be used for many different things.
astro_girl · 6 years ago
I think this is a great improvement, however I don't think many people will be bothered to travel quite a distance to recycle crisp packets so I think they should be made easier to recycle
sloth2008 · 6 years ago
If it will help save the environment, I will definitely recycle crisp packets rather than sending them to landfill.
louis14 · 6 years ago

daisy101 · 6 years ago
I do not think I will recycle my crisp packets because it is not easy to, and I do not believe that it will be good for the environment even if I recycle them.
dog13 · 6 years ago
We don’t want to live in a world of plastic. So recycle everything you can. ?
hockey.xx · 6 years ago
I am way to conscious of the environment. If people do not act fast and realise the damage at least I can help.
ewb26 · 6 years ago
This is a great idea to cut down on the amount of plastic sent to landfill so I would definitely participate in recycling them.
oceangirl5 · 6 years ago
Yes, because it would be good for the environment AND if the packets were recycled they would come back as something new!
oceangirl5 · 6 years ago
Yes, because it would be good for the environment AND if the packets were recycled they would come back as something new! That is more supplies AND a better environment!
taco23 · 6 years ago
Yes. This is a really good idea and I will definitely do this. I hope other company's will follow Walkers lead.
cmi_hall1 · 6 years ago
YES ?I would definitely try to recycle crisp packets as hundreds of crisps are eaten every day. Also,I think it's really good to see companies making a change!!!?
dwfangirl · 6 years ago
I said yes as I think it would be great to recycle and not throw out crisp packets. It would be great to see the sea clean but we can't clean all of it. Therefore, we shouldn't let it get more effected.

heh · 6 years ago
It will definitely help the planet, climate change is killing all the animals, and they will soon become extinct if we are not careful.
(that means yes I will)
ginnyluna · 6 years ago
No because I didn’t really think about crisp packets I only recycle stuff like plastic bottles or plastic bags.
family4 · 6 years ago
I will recycle my crisp packets because loads of people eat crisps and it will be good to save a lot of landfill also it could help animals and the environment.
sangn08 · 6 years ago
It’s good to recycle as the world needs OUR help to be able to sustain life!
clarity32 · 6 years ago
we need to recycle,or we will just be using more oil to make new things when we can just recycle.
owly · 6 years ago
Why wouldn't you recycle the packets??? ♻️ ♻️♻️♻️
heh · 6 years ago
I hardly ever have crisps anyway. ?
fudgebear · 6 years ago
people should recycle all of there junk in the bin even if your out they could put it in the nearest bin because it would help prevent plastic waste and the extinction of animals
fudgebear · 6 years ago
and also people should go to recyling centers more often so animals have more chance of living
joshlapp07 · 6 years ago
Of course
nate1up · 6 years ago
I will not recycle my crisp packets because I do not see the point in it
anb12495 · 6 years ago
Yes. I don't want to grow up in a world with no fish, pollution everywhere and I don't want my children to either. If everyone starts making more of an effort, the state of the sea may change, however we need to work together for that to happen. We will all be to blame if we do nothing and end up in rubbish to our knees.
anb12495 · 6 years ago
animals shouldn't be murdered by us
zarla_101 · 6 years ago
As long as Walkers is 100% sure that they can recycle them... sure! I would love to do anything in my power to help the environment. The only problem is that locally there may not be many recycling points available and not many people will know about this. However, is Wlakers can find a way to make their plan publicly known, and provide recycle points locally, I would be more than happy to help.
elephant_m I think that walkers are working on a way to make the packets into something else, so that they won't harm the environment.
squidywoof · 6 years ago
My school is part of eco schools so we have lots of collection points. Which was really helped I recommend you recommend this to your teachers
ijm · 6 years ago
I am not really sure how you recycle crisps but still. Even though I voted yes for the vote it's past Christmas so technically I'm not recycling this Christmas. : )
