Do you think T levels will be a good change to school exams?

The government has announced a new technical qualification called a T level, which you will be able to choose to take instead of A levels when you go to college or sixth form (in the near future). T-levels will cover 15 sectors in subjects like computer programming, building, journalism, design and farming.
These changes will be in place when the majority of you will be making decisions over what you want to do in life, so we want to hear your views on this decision. For the full story, see this week’s front page (Issue 560), written by Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond.

I don't know because the government have made things really difficult before and this could be even worse

i think that is a very good idea because I love programming and all of those subjects first news said about this poll

Yes
happy4456 · 8 years ago
Yes, because what happens if people have a different job to academic one the school provides?!
banjoblaze · 8 years ago
As long as it's your choice whether you do T or A levels, I think it's okay. I have some friends who are really clever but aren't the best at English, maths or science, so it would be a good opportunity for people like them.

"T" levels will help a lot if you want to study one specific thing, instead having to take lots of steps to get there.
rainbow07 · 8 years ago
I think this would be a good idea because you may not want to be a mathematician or a scientist.ect.
mrpiggy · 8 years ago
I think this would be a good idea because it gives young people more obscure job option's for the future!!!

I think T levels would be a good, modern new touch to the exams as now there is soooo many jobs all involving different techniques and qualifications. I think that thus would really help people to follow your dream and become what you want to be because it gives you the chance to gain different skills and experience needed in those types of jobs.

No A levels are hard
doms05 · 8 years ago
There are already too many exams. We don't need more!
darren919 · 8 years ago
It could be very good however it could end horribly.
schwab1 · 8 years ago
no I don't think so
shpee · 8 years ago
From the sounds of this it seems like you might only be able to choose one, which is bad because I'm pretty sure that these subjects are already included in A-levels anyway. Plus, I really like things like programming, maths and English so if you can only choose one it wouldn't be very good for me.

Looks like 'yes' is winning. What is T levels?
orangebob9 · 8 years ago
I think it will be a good change
vvvv · 8 years ago

vvvv · 8 years ago
YOU CAN CHOOSE WHICH ONE YOU WANT SO DON'T WORRY. BUT SOME KIDS WANT TO TAKE T'S SOME WANT A'S, YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!!!!! DON'T HAVE TO DON'T WANT TO!!
ballerina7 · 8 years ago
I think that T levels will be good because you will have a wider range of subjects and you can choose between taking A levels or T levels. Layla :]

scootz · 8 years ago
I think this is good because you have a wider range of activities for you to do
tillers · 8 years ago
Yes as I am quite competitive and it would give new people the chance to get a higher sense of achievement.
ggamer · 8 years ago
I would love T levels as I want to be an architect as a job and it would most likely help me ??
nature37 · 8 years ago
It would be good because you can have fun in exams for once.
janatetteh · 8 years ago
In my opinion we already have enough levels we don't need any more it is absolutely stupid.
sherbet010 · 8 years ago
The government always change everything like units to ones which made everyone in my class comfused.

prongsii · 8 years ago
How stupid!!!!!
You could just study stuff like programming in you A levels!!!!
mahumbear · 8 years ago
I think that its good we have two choises and it is not compulsory and I am VERY HAPPY about that!!!!!!!!
tiffyoung · 8 years ago
I think the world changed rapidly. I don't think the government could plan forwards precisely. I would rather prefer the children had a few more years of basic knowledge, then enroll into the hot subjects later.
francescal · 8 years ago
I vote yes! I think this would be a good idea because there are a lot of people who prefer to study one particular subject rather than study other things that they have no intention of taking into consideration when looking for a job later on. It also gives you a choice, and as long as it stays that way it would be great!

Nice for other people.

I am not sure because the goverment keep releasing new things that do not make much sense so i will not know until i find out what T-levels actually means when im in highschool
maggie · 8 years ago
Our school exam report already tricky enough without having a T level as well
schwab1 · 8 years ago
hhhmmmm , I say ye but only just. it is not so good as do you even need a degree for farming?
peregrine9 · 8 years ago
I think yes because it gives students freedom from the normal (and sometimes boring) lessons of Maths, English, Science and SPaG.
sugarman · 8 years ago
RUBBISH!
gaggy116 · 8 years ago
yes they get more choice and it might be more useful in life to have those skills
mjmd222 · 8 years ago
Yes!!!!!!
Sashgirl06 · 8 years ago
Things like building and journalism are often not covered as much as the 'core' subjects. I think this gives people a chance to be more specific about what they want to do, so yes.
ninjahari · 8 years ago
They give people an optional substitute for A levels.
ernie4545 · 8 years ago
we could all do with some T levels
lol6 · 8 years ago
I think they would because some people aren't as good as other subjects as other people but they are really good with technology.
wren · 8 years ago
Not everyone is as good at academics and they often have other passions that may be more relevant to their futures. I think they should be allowed to do an exam in something different like farming. It's a great opportunity for many young people. I voted yes!
Smile122 · 8 years ago
I haven't read the whole article but I guess
It's a good thing if you want to get those qualifications
RockyTabbs · 8 years ago
Good photo.

Yes, because if people are against the T-levels or do not like them, they do not have to take them. It's not like they are forcing you - it's your choice! - they are just opening more opportunities for people. Also, there are many jobs that need qualifications for them and this would just be a short cut for some people, rather than then having to go through a long process. It's optional, so the people saying there are too many already, it won't apply to you if you don't take them, so don't make a huge fuss about it. It is an alternative for people who enjoy things less academic, and the people who enjoy academic subjects can still take their subjects! I really hope T-levels do come as they would be an excellent change for everyone.
flo32 · 8 years ago
T-levels would be important as it would ensure that all the skills and talents of all students across the country can be valued and respected.
fn920 · 8 years ago
I think it might be a good change but im too sure, it does give us more choices to chose from. I want to become a Pilot- If this helps me then I've already shot out of the door. Furthermore, if I can't become this I would enjoy computer designing and as this covers computing it seems positive.

I think T levels and A levels
Sparkle09 · 7 years ago
It broadens the variety of what you can do after college
katkid10 · 5 years ago
One member of my family wanted to do farming for their A levels, but the school farm was closed. :(
