Would you stay in a space hotel?

Polls

13th April 2018

IF you’re bored of beaches, caravans, hotels or ski slopes, how about a holiday 200 miles above Earth?

A new company called Orion Span is claiming that from 2022, people will be able to blast off to the “world’s first luxury space hotel” for a 12-day stay that “will change your life”.

It’ll also quite significantly change your bank balance, as the experience will cost a wallet-busting $9.5m (£6.7m) per person. But hey, you’ve got a few years to save up and check for the odd pound down the back of the sofa.

Anyone who does have a spare few million quid will get to experience an orbit of Earth every 90mins from their “luxurious accommodation”. But don’t think you’ll just be kicking back and enjoying the view – paying guests will still be expected to help carry out research experiments while on board.

“We’re not selling a ‘Hey, let’s go to the beach’ equivalent in space,” said Orion Span boss Frank Bunger. “We’re selling the experience of being an astronaut.”

I might like to stay in a space hotel but it would really depend whether it was safe or not. There probably wouldn't be a lot of stuff to do, but still, it would be really cool to have your summer holiday IN SPACE!!!

no I would not stay in a space hotel as cool as It sounds there are so many things that could go wrong

smallgod · 3 years ago

No because I would be scared something would go wrong like challenger's 10th mission.

hobbes123 · 3 years ago

I really wonder how there’s gravity in the hotel??

claudine · 3 years ago

I'd like to do the investigations, but it sounds scary!

It would be really cool to stay in a space hotel because you could experience being an astronaut but there are so many things that could possibly go wrong!

piewham · 3 years ago

I would love to spend my holiday floating around, knowing that I wasn't on my planet!

bobfm · 3 years ago

I might stay in one but I properly worry if it turns out like the titanic!
so I voted no!

emerald123 · 3 years ago

That would be really fun! ???

thanks !

flyinllama · 3 years ago

I DON'T KNOW !!!! It sounds so cool but so many things could go wrong!!!!!!!

gullupuppy · 3 years ago

It would be cool to stay in a space hotel. I always wanted to go in space and see how the earth looks like from outer space, but it might not be safe.

astro_girl · 3 years ago

I would because it would be super fun and I would help with critical research to help us get to mars

elisarules · 3 years ago

I would love love love to be in a space hotel. I mean come on its space!

I would like to have a holiday in space but what if the spaceship broke down?

lavender08 · 3 years ago

I would love to stay in a space hotel, but I would make sure that it was completely safe. I've always wanted to float!!

hazzter21 · 3 years ago

YES ITS IN SPACE!

bonjour · 3 years ago

Yes if I had enough dosh.?

spacewoman · 3 years ago

I would love to stay in a space hotel; it would be an amazing experience to be weightless and to see planet earth from space. It would be really fun to do experiments in space which would massively benefit humans. The only downside is the cost!

bubblyball · 3 years ago

Whoo whoo holiday ! I don't mind if it's cool or not.?

amazinguni · 3 years ago

I think I would because it would be an amazing experience and have an amazing view but it would cost a lot of money and could be dangerous.

fox64 · 3 years ago

I might enjoy it when I was up there, although I would be be a bit worried about what could go wrong.

fox64 · 3 years ago

If you think maybe, then please comment this face: :-| (colon hyphen line).

fox64 · 3 years ago

This my third comment, but has anyone seen radishes10 ? They last appeared on the
poll.

firefox24 · 3 years ago

I wouldn't because many things have gone wrong before in space and I wouldn't like to be one of them.

samuel08 · 3 years ago

Nobody has enough money for that unless they are ranaldo or messi

Magic10 · 3 years ago

Yes, I would, eventually. Right now, perhaps not. Maybe when they’ve improved technology so there is a small chance of something going wrong. Only problem, I don’t have 6.7 million pounds. Other than all of that, yes, I would stay in a space hotel. It’d be uncomfortable sleeping though!

cmi_hall1 · 3 years ago

YES definitely as it would be so cool ?
Plus it would be fun to experience an astronaut 's job.

kaena · 3 years ago

No because if something went wrong what would happen? i would be scared as well about the landing and taking off.

tvbin · 3 years ago

no I would not because if something went wrong like a hole in the space craft everybody would get sucked out AND DIE PAINFULLY

Unicorn2 · 3 years ago

It would be really cool but i would want to know whether it is really safe. It would be really cool to have a holiday in space.????

superspy11 · 3 years ago

I think no because it wouldn't be very relaxing if you were floating around all the time. I also find space really scary as well because you could easily float away on a space walk if you let go and something happened to the wire connecting you to the spacecraft.

catiebug11 · 3 years ago

i totally agree with 'cooldie'. however it sounds AWESOME

catiebug11 · 3 years ago

on the other hand WHERE IN THE WORLD AM I GONNA GET 6.7M?!?!?!?!?

poopoo143 · 3 years ago

I would like to go to a space hotel but you still need to pay for it (obviously) and hope you could survive up there.

VAHC · 3 years ago

It is so expensive! no way! What if something went horribly wrong? In space no one could hear me scream.

donutlove · 3 years ago

NO WAY! I WOULD FREAK OUT TOTALLY AND I'M PRETTY SURE THAT'S FAIRLY CRAZY

r2d2_ninja · 3 years ago

I think that living in space would solve the homelessness that the world is now facing. It is also interesting to see the future technology evolve, being able to go a hotel in space for a holiday would really fun as-well as a new experience.

irowlands · 3 years ago

I definitely don't want to go into space! It is extremely dangerous and I don't think that I would enjoy the experience of going up into space.

dylzcam · 3 years ago

I think staying in a space hotel would be cool, but also dangerous and risky. If one thing went wrong, it could be a disaster. The would not be much to do, either, because I like to do different things everyday, and you would probably be doing the same research for a month and I would probably get bored.

dylzcam · 3 years ago

Rather go to the beach!

daisy101 · 3 years ago

t HAT WOULD BE REALLY COOL IT WOULD ALSO HELP ME WITH MY SCIENCE

makelesi12 · 3 years ago

i don't really know if i would or not but i would like to experience this fascinating trip to space i have read books about space and also seen articles but to be honest if i could i would totally give it a shot even though theirs know gravity who knows what it might be like i for one is very interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

elise2006 · 3 years ago

I wouldn't stay in a space ? hotel because I feel that we should make the most of our world ? before we go and find entertainment somewhere in space.

aamzaf · 3 years ago

No because it might crash and everyone might die.

guest_8133 · 3 years ago

I’ve always wanted to go to space

newsedit · 3 years ago

It would be a great experience but the danger would be too much

netbalover · 3 years ago

Quite honestly i don't see the point in going on a holiday to explore space when we haven't even been on holiday everywhere right down hear on Earth!?

aim123 · 3 years ago

i would't because it might crash and we will die

catonclan · 3 years ago

I would have nightmares about the possibility of things going wrong

frog3.1415 · 3 years ago

It would cost a ton of money and it certainly isn't a vacation. You would need quite a big training course and then you have to do experiments on the "hotel". This may also be slightly dangerous and there are so many parts to this hotel that it is quite likely that at least one thing will go wrong.

rollersk8t · 3 years ago

WHAT!!!!! NO!!!!! You never know what will happen, you might have to abandon the rocket without a spacesuit and you'll know how that will end up!

holholster · 3 years ago

I wouldn't like to stay in a space hotel, because many things could go wrong, and if they do no one will know about it. To add to my point, I don't like the idea of floating around with barely any oxygen and 0% gravity.

xcurlysuex · 3 years ago

I would be constantly freaked out incase it crashed. It would also be hard to do all the things that astronauts do (it says you get to experience the life of an astronaut) I mean, what happens if you blow it up or something by accident. Or you have to do a system check or something and you do it wrong and it breaks. No, i wouldn't, it obviously isn't safe if you are not a trained astronaut and you have to do astronaut work! It would be way too creepy, Plus, over a million pound per person. I mean come ON guys. You are never going to save up a million quid!

synchro101 · 3 years ago

Yes but how safe is it????

ciarza123 · 3 years ago

No, because something could go wrong but yes because its different to just normal beaches and pools and all the other holiday things you do.

retep · 3 years ago

If it was safe, then I would go!

kratos · 3 years ago

What if an engine fails you'll fall to your doom and how are you going to survive entering the atmosphere bad idea.have you ever seen how astronots get down you'd need about one hundred parachutes to stop the speed of the hotel so doing a bit of maths you'd spend just a million pounds building the hotel. The tickets would be super expensive too.

cloudysky · 3 years ago

NO! What if the oxygen broke!!!!???? We would all die and just a simple space hotel idea could cost so many lives!

chocnut · 3 years ago

its too expensive and probably not very safe

jedigeorge · 3 years ago

na!

john28 · 3 years ago

YES, IT WOULD BE REALLY COOL.

pbadminton · 2 years ago

Sounds fun

hector7 · 2 years ago

Only if we are in the future because they cost like £400,000000 for a night visit!

celtic10 · 2 years ago

If it was safe

panda89 · 11 months ago

YESSSS I would love that soooo much! it would be AMAZING.
