Animal charity the PDSA has warned people against dressing their pets up for Halloween this year.

It says that inappropriate fancy dress outfits for pets can have a bad impact on an animal’s health and wellbeing.

The charity adds that some pet costumes are made from thick fabric that can restrict a pet’s movement and their self-care, such as grooming. They can also make an animal hot, while smaller parts of an outfit might be a choking hazard.

Gemma Renwick, a PDSA nurse, said: “While fancy dress may be fun for us, it’s important to remember that our pets aren’t toys or a Halloween party prop. Dressing them in a way that makes fun of them… is just not a considerate thing to do.”

No, because it's bad for pets health. Just a collar or a harness is good.
