Rat sightings are on the rise in Scotland, warns Scottish Labour.

Glasgow has experienced the worst of it, with the city registering 10,840 reports of rats in 2024-25. That’s a huge rise from 2021-22, when there were just 7,215 complaints.

Labour has blamed a lack of funding for street cleaning. It said councils have had to cut budgets and people are unhappy with how dirty the streets are getting.
