A primary school in Kent has been in the news because of its decision to not allow pupils to dress up for World Book Day today (Thursday).

For the second year in a row, Langafel Primary School in Longfield has said that it doesn’t want children to dress up for the day.

The school told the BBC that it puts some pupils off coming into school, and that some parents struggle to afford to pay for costumes for their children.

Instead, the school will be getting a visit from an author and having other activities during the day.

What do you think? Do you like dressing up for World Book Day, like these kids at an event at 10 Downing Street last year (above), or would you prefer not to have to do it? Let us know your reasons by leaving a comment!

I love dressing up for World Book Day! Although I am in secondary school now, we still got to dress up, which was great but my brother, who's in primary school, didn't get to dress up and they had to dress up wooden spoons instead.

Who does not like getting all dressed up for world book day?!? I ❤️ getting one pound books, I even got all the spare tokens from McDonald’s so I had 9 and really did not know what to do after spending five so I gave them away. (Believe it or not, we did not get any at school😞)
