“How about this weather at the moment?” “It’s a hot one today…” “Looks like it’ll rain later.” These are all conversations that us Brits have, a LOT. In fact, Met Office research has revealed that, on average, we spend 56.6 hours chatting about the weather every year. That’s nearly two and a half days! Nearly half (43%) of us use the weather as an ice-breaker to start conversations, and four-fifths of us check the forecast daily. The weather has been a big talking point this summer. It’s on track go down as one of the warmest summers on record, with the average temperature between 1 June to 17 August being 1.5ºC higher than normal.
