VAR again made the headlines again last weekend in Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta was very unhappy with the goal, with the Arsenal boss calling it “embarrassing” and a “disgrace”.

There were three controversial calls – first the ball was close to going out of play, then from the following cross Joelinton gave defender Gabriel a push, and goalscorer Anthony Gordon was possibly offside.

Not that Newcastle will be too bothered; they’re now up to sixth and have hit good league form following a slow start.
