TO celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, First News is running an online advent calendar on First News Live! until Christmas Day.
We’ve got 25 festive treats wrapped up in the form of fun videos, celebrity shout-outs, Christmassy galleries (prepare for a parade of pups in Santa hats) and other surprises, ready and waiting for you! All you have to do is open the new “door” each day.
And behind DOOR NUMBER SIXTEEN…
It’s a heartwarming Christmas animation created by our friends at Cats Protection – a film that’s sure to bring a tear to the eye of any cat lover.
The animation is based on the true story of mature moggy Kozal who recently found his forever home after waiting almost seven months to be adopted.
A happy ending for Kozal the cat
The 16-year-old ginger puss was cared for at Cats Protection’s National Cat Adoption Centre in Sussex where he was overlooked by prospective owners until kind-hearted Jill Cash saw him featured in the local news and offered him a home.
“We adopted Kozal because he had that forlorn look on his face and we just wanted to give him a warm safe place to spend his OAP years,” said Jill.
“He settled in right away and made himself at home. He loves to sit in front of our french doors and watch the birds. He is a real feisty character and we are starting to recognise the different miaows he gives us.
“Kozal now has all four paws well and truly under the table – eating us out of house and home. We no longer use an alarm clock as he decides when we get up and serve breakfast!
“I’m so glad to have been able to give Kozal a lovely retirement home and would thoroughly recommend giving an older cat a chance. They have lots to offer and you’ll have adopted a cat that might have been overlooked for many months before finding its forever home.”
The charity is thrilled that Kozal is settled and happy in his new home in time for Christmas – and so are we at First News!
Now, grab the tissues and press play – but remember, there’s a happy ending right around the corner for Kozal.
