Japan launches a satellite to better monitor North Korea

Japan – January 24: Japan’s H-IIA rocket, carrying the Kirameki-2 satellite, is launched from the Tanegashima Space Centre in southern Tanegashima island. Japan launched the satellite to modernise its military communications and reportedly provide better monitoring of nearby North Korean missile launches.
