SPEECH YOUR MIND!

First News’ speech writing competition

Write a short speech about a topic you are passionate about and you could read it at a special ceremony in London and win a £50 Amazon voucher!

The general election is coming up this year, and the country will vote for the next Government. We want your voices to be heard loud and clear, not just by us, but by people in positions of power, too. Even though you don’t get a vote, you do have a voice. That’s why we have launched the Speech Your Mind competition – so you can have your say about something that really matters to you.

Everyone cares about something. But what do you think about a lot? It might be something to do with the environment. Or it could be about feeling safe either online or on our streets, it might be school life, mental health, having more money, better things to do in your free time, or you might be worried about refugees. If you care about it, we want to hear about it!

Whatever it is, First News wants to hear from you.

Your speech can be anywhere between 200 and 500 words. You can write it down or say it out loud in an audio recording.
