A new report says lots of people have seen false or misleading health information online, and some have made decisions based on it.
The report, from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), looked at comments from more than 2,000 adults in the UK.
One in five people aged 18 to 34 said they had made a health decision because of information that turned out to be false or misleading, and later regretted it.
Among 18 to 24-year-olds, almost two-fifths said they knew someone who had been seriously harmed after making a health decision based on false information.
The report found that social media was the most common place where people had seen false health information.
People said they had seen misleading information about topics including vaccines, mental health, climate change and weight-loss injections.
The researchers say it is important for people to check health information carefully before believing or sharing it.
