The younger you are, the more likely you are to believe you could beat a Guinness World Record.
That’s one finding from a fun and thought-provoking poll by research group YouGov. It surveyed 7,000 adults in the UK, and found that, for every 100 Brits, 14 think they have the talent to earn a spot in the famous record book.
So who’s most likely to think they could break a record?
So, as a person even younger than 18, how do you feel? Perhaps it’s reasonable to be confident – you have more of your life lying ahead of you, after all!
There were a few other interesting trends, though. The survey found that Londoners (21 in 100 people) are far more confident than people from elsewhere in the UK.
Men are also almost twice as confident that they could be a record-beater as women are.
This follows the pattern of past YouGov polls that show men are more confident that they could beat a bear in a fight, and score a point in a tennis match against 23-time Grand Slam tennis champion Serena Williams.
