A robot has performed the first fully automated dental procedure on a human, the US company Perceptive says.

Using a robotic arm, AI (artificial intelligence) and 3D imaging, the machine was able to complete treatments like fillings and crowns in just 15 minutes.

This is a huge time-saver compared to the much longer sessions needed by human dentists.

However, the robot dentist is still being tested and isn’t ready for full use just yet.
