Two million WWI and II African & Caribbean soldiers are remembered with a dedicated war memorial

22 JUNE: LONDON, ENGLAND – Performers wait as a memorial honouring the two million African and Caribbean military servicemen and women who served in World War I and World War II, is unveiled in Windrush Square in London. The event was attended by war veterans, in-service men and women and dignitaries including the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, Chiefs of Defence Staff from Caribbean and African countries, High Commissioners from Commonwealth Nations, ambassadors and the Secretary of State for Defence Sir Michael Fallon.
