24 FEBRUARY: ALEPPO, SYRIA – Young children stand in a destroyed street in the northwestern border town of al-Bab after Turkish-backed Syrian rebels fully captured the town from the Islamic State (IS) group. Al-Bab, just 25 kilometres (15 miles) south of the Turkish border, was the last IS stronghold in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo.
