31 JULY: YPRES, BELGIUM – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lay flowers at the headstones of soldiers who fell in World War One at The Tyne Cot Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Zonnebeke as part of a series of commemorations for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele. The battle of Passchendaele, also called the third battle of Ypres, took place between 31 July and 6 November, 1917 in Passendale, West Flanders.
